At the offices of one of our partner NGOs, a small network of PCs has been set up with internet access. Included in this network is a scanner. This will enable 'paper' documents to be emailed to the UK. This will be of considerable help to the schools links, making it much easier to get hand written letters from pupils in Mbale back to their partner schools here in the UK. It is also hoped to be able to provide a good quality printer so that the reverse can be done - emails sent from pupils here could be printed in the office in Mbale and taken to the partner schools there. The facility will benefit other links too.
We also provide support for the pont-mbale.org.uk website, and other IT facilities to facilitate the effective operation of PONT.
