Ambulance Overview

mbake 2010 144The ambulance work has now progressedto provide 5 eRanger Motorbike Ambulances. These vehicles are in use 24/7 and are providing life saving emergency transport to maternity emergencies and to the ill and injured. Since they were launched on 1st December 2010 the ambulances have conveyed in excess of 1200 patients, approximately 60% of journeys have been maternity related inciddsc_8584ents. In conjunction with the PONT Engineering Workshop and the University of Glamorgan, we are also providing Bicycle Ambulance Stretchers and Mountain Rescue Stretchers to reach the remote areas. Grant funding from the Department for International Development will provide a further 2 Ambulances this year, and the Rotarty District 1070 are also fundraising to provide an estimated 20 further eRangers.
