Ambulance Overview

mbake 2010 144The ambulance work has now progressed to provide 32 eRanger Motorbike Ambulances. These vehicles are in use 24/7 and are providing life saving emergency transport to maternity emergencies, and to the ill and injured.

The service was launched on 1st December 2010 and by the end of 2014 had conveyed nearly 10,000 patients, of which 2/3 were maternity related. For most of this period there were just a few ambulances, but in mid 2014 the number of ambulances was substantialy increased through funding from Rotary District 1070.

Grant funding from the UK Department for International Development provided 2 of the earlier ambulances.

In conjunction with the PONT Engineering Workshop and the University of South Wales, we are also providing Bicycle Ambulance Stretchers and Mountain Rescue Stretchers to reach the more remote areas
