A: PONT is mostly funded by donations from the general public. PONT has a large number of supporters who pay by monthly direct debit, and receive regular newsletters and updates on the charity's work. Other donors give through the numerous fundraising events and activities that are held by PONT and its partnership links throughout the year. Some of these donations are made to fund individual projects and the work of specific partnership links, and are channelled by PONT as intended. Other general donations are shared throughout the charity's projects. PONT is a registered charity and can channel Gift Aid payments from the government to add to any relevant donations.
Certain partnership links in conjunction with PONT may make grant applications to certain funding bodies, and this money is channelled through PONT to be spent on the development projects outlined in the grant application.
Some merchandising operations have been set up to sell on materials created in Mbale district with profits going to PONT's work. The charity has also set up a carbon offsetting scheme to fund the Environment partnership link's projects. You can offset your carbon emissions by making a donation that is spent on lessening emissions in Mbale and improving life in the area.
