Thinking of taking up running or cycling? Always wanted to jump out of a plane? Whether you join in with a big event or do your own thing, PONT is great local charity to raise funds for. You could help mums in labour get to hospital, train teachers or help people provide an income for their families.
Whether you’ve already got a marathon place and want to start fundraising or you’re just thinking about what to do, we’d love to hear from you.
You’re more powerful than you know! You can make a huge difference in Uganda by giving your time. If you raise £100, that could pay (on average) for 25 journeys in one of our motorcycle ambulances. £300 could fund one of our co-ordinators for a whole month. You can usually choose to raise money for a particular project – talk to us about it
TIP: Most fundraisers are surprised how many people support their cause when they tell them why you’re fundraising. You probably know more people than you think! As well as family and friends, think about how many contacts you have in your workplace, social media networks – at church, in groups, your nan’s next door neighbour…
You can set up an online page on TotalGiving here– but we’d love to hear from you when you’re thinking about it. We can also send you a good old-fashioned sponsorship form for contacts who prefer cash.
Setting up the online page is fairly quick and easy, but to help you we’ve written this Guide – Setting up an online fundraising page.
TIP: Post plenty of pictures and updates on social media to remind friends to give
We’ll love you for it, our team in Uganda will love you for it, and though they might not know you personally, the hundreds of people in Mbale helped by our health, education, livelihoods and environmental projects will have their lives changed by it.
